Gene Ford

After over 30 years in Nashville as a professional guitarist, Gene has moved to Tampa, Florida. Back when Gene was on the road, he toured with Rich Mullins on the Amy Grant Unguarded tour, Rick Cua of the Outlaws, TG Sheppard, Deborah Allen, Ashley Cleveland, and with Native American artist, Bill Miller on a BoDeans tour.

Gene was a core member of The Nashville Mandolin Ensemble and the Nashville Mandolin Trio with Butch Baldassari, that toured in the United States and Europe. He was a member of the original band Cody, out of Nashville. Gene also recorded and played live with Alex Call (songwriter of “867-5309”).

After coming off the road, Gene spent his time in Nashville as a studio guitarist, songwriter and owner of a highly successful music education studio. He also continued to play around town with the Mark Sorrells Trio.

Guitarist

Gene has played the guitar since he was 12. While his degree is in classic guitar, Gene is a blues rocker at heart. His style calls to mind the greats like Jimmy Hendrix or Eric Clapton. He also loves to play R&B; and has covered hundreds of classic rock songs over the years in various bands.

Gene is currently seeking musical collaborations locally and is in the process of forming several bands with different styles.

As a solo guitarist, Gene is available now to play in the Tampa, St.Pete/Clearwater areas – his soulful and expressive guitar sounds are the perfect choice for any event big or small.
